Local businesses report break-ins; township to explore cameras and legal options

A business owner asked whether a township camera could be placed on private property facing the street; Speaker 2 said he would consult legal counsel before recommending any installation because cameras on streets or rights-of-way carry additional scrutiny and privacy considerations. "Let me discuss that with staff and then also with legal just to make sure that we're covering all of our bases," Speaker 2 said.
No formal vote or funding decision on cameras was taken; staff will report back after legal review and further discussion with police.
