State revenue forecast posts $827 million gain; six agency-request bills survive house cutoff

"Getting any bill to survive at this stage is a challenge," he said, and thanked sponsors and legislative leaders for bipartisan support.
He said his office will continue working with the legislature to arrive at a balanced budget and may reconsider earlier choices, including use of reserves, in light of the updated forecasts. "They're still hard decisions to make," he said, emphasizing that lawmakers may reasonably use extra revenue in different ways and that he will stay engaged in negotiations.
