Local tennis nonprofit asks school board for pledge or MOU to unlock donor funds

During public comment on Jan. 14, Diane McGee, speaking for the Teton County Community Tennis Association, asked trustees to consider a pledge agreement or nonbinding memorandum of understanding to enable fundraising for a new tennis facility. McGee said prospective donors require a partner commitment before donating; she reported an anonymous lead pledge of $150,000 over three years and potential USTA grant support up to $200,000.
McGee asked the board to add the proposal to a future agenda so the association could present details about a proposed site and operations. She said the group has met with county and town officials and received positive feedback and support from parks and recreation officials.
Board members did not take action on the request that night but told McGee staff would add agendaing steps as requested and help coordinate next steps with county and town partners.
