The Teton County School District #1 Board of Trustees voted 6–1 on Jan. 14 to approve the superintendent’s employment contract following a closed executive session. Trustee (Speaker 3) moved approval; the motion carried on the board’s roll call tally.
Board members did not expand on the contract terms in open session. After the vote, the superintendent addressed the board and community, saying he was honored to take the role: "I'm honored to be, your superintendent." The board offered congratulations and expressed anticipation for continued work with district staff and principals.
The contract was considered in executive session pursuant to Wyoming law, and the board returned to public session to record the vote and offer congratulatory remarks. The meeting minutes show a final vote count of six in favor and one opposed.
Next steps for the board include continuing oversight of district goals and planned capital projects discussed later in the meeting.
