Erin reviewed that the board chair is gubernatorial‑appointed and that vice chair and secretary should be elected by the board. Staff asked for self‑nominations or nominations for vice chair and secretary, with volunteers or nominations requested before the November meeting. If multiple candidates are identified, the board will hold an election; if only one candidate per role is identified staff will present the recommended candidate for ratification.
Erin also asked members to reassess committee participation (policy & personnel; outreach & engagement; finance & audit), encouraged members to sign up for at least one committee to ensure quorums, and requested that board members update contact and affiliation forms so staff can coordinate outreach invitations and meetings in 2026. A reminder to send committee lists and a convener offer to reach out to potential nominees were accepted by board members during the discussion.
No board leadership votes were held at the Oct. 9 meeting; the board approved the prior meeting minutes and adjourned at 10:41 a.m.
