Des Moines Seeks Contractors for Property Improvement Program; Bids Due March 6

A City of Des Moines staff member announced that the city has opened a competitive bid package for a property-improvement effort tied to its Improving Our Neighborhoods program and is seeking local contractors to submit proposals.

The announcement, delivered by an unnamed City staff member, said the solicitation covers a range of exterior repair work and encouraged firms to attend a pre-bid meeting. The staff member said the city “will be selecting multiple contractors through a competitive bid process” and asked interested parties to file bids by March 6, 2026. “If you're interested, please submit your bid by 03/06/2026,” the speaker said.

City officials described the solicitation as a property improvement projects package intended to support neighborhood exterior repairs. The staff member identified roofing, siding and window work and some foundation repairs as the primary trades sought.
