Oak Lawn sets Linus Lane one-way during St. Minas school drop-off to ease congestion

Trustees on Jan. 13 moved to adopt a traffic pattern change for Linus Lane at St. Minas Church and School to reduce congestion during peak drop-off and pick-up times.
Trustee Bud (District 5) told the board the east-side street has been one-way southbound for some time while Linus Lane on the west side remained two-way, creating congestion when cars park on both sides. "The school asked and I asked the traffic review to make the Linus Lane, which is on the West side of Saint Linus Church and School, one way going north from 07:30AM till 08:30AM and from, 02:30 to 03:30," Bud said. He added that signs are installed to reflect the change.
The measure is intended as a traffic-management step for arrival and dismissal windows; trustees did not record objections during the district reports and the change appears to have been implemented as described on the agenda and in the meeting comments.
Residents who use Linus Lane should follow posted signage during the specified hours, the trustee said.
