Retired Murrieta teacher announces new children's book, offers donations and school readings

During public comment at the Feb. 9 meeting, Julia Peralta introduced herself as a retired teacher who spent 34 years teaching grades K'8 and said she recently published a children's book titled "Skip Skip Hooray." Peralta said she has delivered readings at local elementary schools, challenged students to "show kindness in person," and offered to donate hardcover copies to the Murrieta Public Library and to visit schools for additional readings.
Peralta said her book was published through Crane Books Publishing and that she'd been featured in a local business journal. She thanked the commission for the opportunity to speak and invited any questions; none were raised during the public comment period.
