Bryan County commissioners authorized a series of vendor contracts and routine appointments at the same meeting that featured land‑use actions.
The board approved a five‑year payment contract with Axon Enterprise Inc. for 50 body cameras for the sheriff’s office, with staff stating the purchase is budgeted and the contract value ‘‘not to exceed $494,095.’’ The motion to authorize execution of the contract passed by voice vote.
County officials also approved a three‑year extension of the EMS billing‑services agreement with Trinity EMS Consulting Services LLC, continuing an outsourced arrangement county staff said has increased collections and reduced the need for an internal billing department.
On annual appointments, the board appointed Alex Floyd as vice chairman for 2026 and reappointed Aaron Kapler of the firm that has provided county legal services as county attorney for 2026; both votes were approved by voice vote. The board also set qualifying fees for county offices for the 2026 election cycle and authorized staff to publish the fees as required by law.
What this means: The Axon contract is budgeted and will proceed to contract execution with the Sheriff’s Office and Finance staff. The EMS billing contract continues the county’s most recent vendor relationship for ambulance billing. Appointments and fee schedules are standard annual governance steps and will be reflected in county records.
