Ernest Steven of the regulatory program summarized staff review, which found the Burlington County College structures were not culturally significant and noted that hazardous materials including asbestos had been removed. For the Hamilton landfill, staff described field surveys and a finding that any leachate plume did not pose a significant ecological risk to nearby wetlands; the applicant proposed protecting a 100‑foot corridor around the landfill to meet threatened and endangered species standards for red‑headed woodpecker habitat. The commission approved the resolution covering those public development applications by voice vote.
The commission also approved a waiver of strict compliance to allow a single‑family dwelling on a 0.9‑acre lot in the Indian Mills area of Shamong (Monroe Township application), citing staff analysis that the lot fell short of the 1‑acre requirement and lacked 5 feet to the seasonal high water table but met criteria for a waiver; commissioners noted a prior waiver granted in 2017 had expired. The body took the vote by voice.
Separately, the commission adopted a standard June resolution authorizing the executive director to continue to expend funds for FY26 at the FY25 level until the FY26 budget is finalized; staff said the measure ensures payroll and bills can be paid pending state appropriation.
