The New Jersey Casino Control Commission adopted a resolution thanking Alicia Beth Cooper for 13 years of service and formally recognized her retirement effective Aug. 1, 2025.
The resolution, read into the record by commission staff, traces Cooper’s service: she was appointed to complete an unexpired term in 2012, appointed to a full five-year term in 2014 and reappointed in August 2021. The resolution credited her with integrity, attention to detail and contributions to the regulation of casino gaming in Atlantic City.
A motion to adopt the draft resolution passed; commissioners invited Cooper to speak. Cooper said she was honored to have served and reflected briefly on her time at the commission, calling it "an absolute honor and a privilege" and noting the friendships and professional relationships she would carry forward.
Commissioners and several outside counsel offered tributes and best wishes. In public comment later in the meeting, Lynn Levin Kaufman — appearing as counsel for Premier/Bally's — thanked Commissioner Cooper "for her service to the casino industry, Atlantic City, and the state," praising her professionalism, integrity and commitment.
The resolution will be placed in the record as a commemoration of Cooper’s service.
