The Washington County Quorum Court approved an amended budget ordinance for 2026 after a correction from the comptroller's office.
Counsel notified the court that a comptroller review discovered an overamount error of $6,551.42 in the DEM grant fund and distributed corrected numbers. Counsel said the total amounts in multiple lines would be amended to reflect updated totals and proposed changing certain line items in the DEM grant fund to $832,772.87.
Justice Ricker moved to amend the ordinance as presented and Justice Dean seconded. The court approved the amendment and then read the ordinance as amended: "An ordinance projecting revenue and carryover totaling $7,615,357.09 in various funds and appropriating expenditures of $7,615,357.09 in various funds and budget line items for 2026."
