BPU approves Veolia affiliate agreement to proceed with membrane filtration work
Summary

Veolia Water New Jersey petitioned the board for permission to enter into an affiliate agreement with WTS Systems USA Inc. to perform startup and other services for the installation of membrane filtration equipment at Bald Eagle Village and Birch Hill wastewater treatment plants. Staff reported Veolia solicited bids and WTS was the lowest bidder; staff also noted that the Division of Rate Counsel filed comments indicating it did not object to approval subject to certain conditions.
Staff recommended approval of the affiliate agreement; the board moved, seconded and voted by roll call to approve the recommendation. Staff noted WTS had already begun work pursuant to the proposed agreement, per the record.
The approval authorizes the affiliate agreement while preserving staff’s ability to review prudence and other conditions in subsequent filings, as discussed during the presentation.
