SSVEC Foundation previews YES Fair: public viewing at Community Innovation Center

Kate Cox, media coordinator for the Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative Foundation, described the upcoming YES Fair on KWCD’s First Watch and invited the public to view student STEM projects.
"The YES Fair is a youth engineering and science fair," Cox said, explaining the fair has been run by the foundation since the mid-1980s and is affiliated with the International Science and Engineering Fair. The fair showcases projects in science, technology, engineering and mathematics from students across Southern Arizona.
Cox said project check-in is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday (closed to the public), with judging on Wednesday the 25th and a public day on Thursday the 26th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public venue is the Community Innovation Center, 4251 Enterprise Way in Sierra Vista. Cox thanked more than 60 volunteer judges, local sponsors and partner organizations that support awards and hands-on components.
The event culminates with awards and community recognitions; community groups and businesses sponsor 13 community awards recognizing student projects. Cox urged teachers, families and community members to attend the public day and support student innovators.
