PHOENIX — The Arizona State Senate read and adopted House Concurrent Resolution 20 60 honoring the life and public service of George Cunningham and stood for a moment of silence before inviting the Cunningham family to the floor.

Senator Gabaldon moved adoption of the resolution and the motion carried by voice vote; the resolution was recorded and returned to the House.
Family members who joined the Senate included Marjorie Cunningham, Paul Cunningham, and several children and grandchildren. On the floor, members offered personal remembrances: Senator Gobbledone recalled Cunningham's mentorship and campaign support, Senator Epstein described Cunningham as "wicked smart" and praised his public-service record, and Senator Alston and others shared anecdotes about Cunningham's work at the university and in state government.
