Julia moved “to not excuse him for today,” and Sandra seconded the motion; the chair called for voices and commissioners present responded “aye,” passing the motion. Commissioners discussed making another attempt to contact Chase and noted the city’s process for removing a member after three unexcused absences. Jackie, commission staff, said she had reached out but had not received a response and that removal after three unexcused absences is handled by council procedure.
The commission recorded the vote by voice; commissioners said they will make additional outreach (including one member’s offer to contact a person who knows Chase) before pursuing removal procedures. The meeting adjourned at 1:01 p.m.
