Housing authority approves updated utility allowances and names Horizon Bank as depository

At its Feb. 19 meeting the Michigan City Housing Authority approved two administrative resolutions related to program operations.
Resolution 2026‑01 authorized an updated utility allowance schedule, which staff said is based on statewide utility allowance data provided by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Agency and will take effect March 1. The motion to approve the resolution was moved, seconded and carried on a roll-call vote.
Resolution 2026‑02 authorized the authority to enter a general depository agreement with Horizon Bank. ED explained that HUD monitoring had noted the authority lacked a current general depository agreement and that the authority recently completed an RFP that resulted in an award to Horizon Bank. The board voted to approve the depository agreement by roll call.
Both resolutions passed during the meeting; recorded roll-call votes for each were called by Miss Dixon.
