Greenfield Teachers Association presents sunshine proposal seeking to open multiple contract articles

He described the proposal as intended to "promote transparency, strengthen collaborative labor-management relationships, and work toward a collective bargaining agreement that reflects the needs of educators, students and the Greenfield community."
District staff clarified the sunshine submission appears in the meeting packet under the consent agenda (item 25). Hagenham said GTA submitted the proposals in good faith and looks forward to negotiating with the district.
What this means: The sunshine proposal begins formal public notice of the union's bargaining priorities and will form the basis of initial negotiations; the board will consider the consent-item placement in the meeting and trustees will take up bargaining positions through the district's negotiation process.
