Porter County Election Board re-elects leadership, approves inventory and routine election resolutions

The board re-elected Paul Rausch as president by voice vote after a motion and second. A subsequent motion nominated Daniel Tim to serve as vice president; the motion was seconded and approved. The board nominated and approved Monetra (transcript shows both 'Monet' and 'Monetra') Conrad to continue as election board attorney.
On election-year housekeeping, staff presented standard resolutions to authorize use of 16- and 17-year-old poll workers and to permit the traveling board to use the electronic poll book pursuant to IC 3-11-12-25; both resolutions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The board also reviewed the IEC-22 equipment inventory (serial numbers) and voted to accept the inventory as a true representation for submission to the state.
Board members approved the December meeting minutes by voice vote and directed counsel to follow up on delinquent campaign finance filings that the office flagged; staff reported 13 delinquent reports with follow-up planned in February.
What’s next: Routine calendar items noted that filing ends Feb. 6 at noon, the office will be closed on Feb. 16 and the next board meeting is scheduled for Feb. 25 at 3 p.m.
