FSEC demonstrates redesigned public website and new search tools to improve access to hearings and documents

FSEC staff presented a demonstration of the agencypublic websitesearch functionality during the Dec. 17 meeting, highlighting three entry points for searching and new tagging and connection features designed to make hearings, documents and facility pages easier to find.
Ally Smith, management analyst, explained the site provides a top-right general search box, a top ribbon targeted search for events (hearings and council meetings) and a central home-page search box for guided queries. She said the redesign emphasizes "interconnectedness" so that documents, events and facility pages are linked via tags and connections. That structure enables users to reach the same content through multiple paths and to apply advanced filters such as facility name, meeting type and date ranges.
Smith asked users to send questions and feedback to a dedicated email that will be posted on the website and noted staff plan continued stabilization and incremental improvements in January 2026 and a public demonstration of related programmatic EIS tools in February.
The council complimented staff on the redesign and emphasized the value of improved public access for outreach around large projects such as Cascade Renewable Transmission.
