NVTA awards long‑range planning contract to ICF; kickoff in March

At its Feb. 12 authority meeting, NVTA awarded the next transaction (long‑range planning) contract to a team led by ICF; NVTA staff announced the award during the Technical Advisory Committee meeting on Feb. 18 and said the work will begin with a March kickoff.
"Awarding the transaction contract for the next 5 years to ICF," Speaker 1 said, noting ICF will lead a team that includes subconsultants familiar with regional modeling and planning. Staff said four proposals were received; other lead firms evaluated included Kimley‑Horn, Cambridge Systematics and AECOM (transcript: 'ATCS').
Scope and schedule: staff described an approximately 18‑month contract with an initial four to five months of public engagement and project list updates to remove completed projects, amend scopes, and include new projects for the long‑range plan. The work will also advance elements of the BRT (PRT) action plan to better position projects to compete for federal, state and regional funding.
Staff emphasized the contractor will examine operations and funding readiness as well as planning tasks. A kickoff meeting is expected in March; staff said public engagement and model work during the contract will inform the six‑year program and future NVTA priorities.
