The Ashwaubenon Site Plan Review Committee voted unanimously Dec. 2 to approve a site‑plan request to add a 25‑foot‑tall, 10,000‑gallon stainless‑steel exterior tank for Tufco LP at 3161 South Ridge Road with staff‑recommended screening conditions.
Staff planner Aaron told the committee the tank would hold non‑hazardous sodium bicarbonate, which he described as "baking soda," and would be located on the south side of the building about 95 feet from the Ashwaubenon Street right‑of‑way. "It will therefore meet all setback and height requirements," Aaron said, and added that surrounding parcels are zoned Industrial Park.
Aaron recommended as a condition of approval that the base of the tank be screened with a minimum 8‑foot‑tall chain‑link fence fitted with vinyl slats or another approved screening material, citing the Ashwaubenon Municipal Code as the rationale for screening. A committee member said the installation "meets our codes" and that fencing was "nice around it." Another member moved to approve the installation; a second was offered, and the committee approved the motion by voice vote.
The approval includes the staff conditions on screening noted during the presentation. No public testimony was recorded and no technical objections to setbacks, height or zoning were raised during the meeting. The committee chair announced the motion carried and the committee proceeded to the next agenda item.
