Summary
The Site Plan Review Committee approved a parking-lot expansion and reconfiguration for Charter Next Generation CNG at 1327 Glory Road, finding the proposal met village standards and adding landscaping and curbing; staff said on-site grass parking will be prohibited after construction.
The Site Plan Review Committee approved a plan on Dec. 16 to expand and reconfigure an employee parking lot for Charter Next Generation CNG at 1327 Glory Road.
Aaron, a village planning staff member, told the committee the firm (formerly Legacy Flexo) has “basically run out of parking lot space” and that the proposed addition along Commodity Lane meets village requirements, includes required curbing, and adds landscaping including Northwoods maple and Black Hills spruce. He said staff had no additional conditions of approval.
Committee members raised enforcement and historical-compliance questions. One member said the current informal parking “along the grass” has been a long-standing problem; Aaron replied, “parking on the grass wouldn't be allowed under our code,” and said staff would enforce the code after the new lot is installed. Members also asked staff to check historical records about whether previous additions had required curbing.
The motion to approve the site plan was made by Dan Pamperin and seconded by Dale Quinn. The motion carried on an oral vote.
Next steps: with approval granted, the applicant may proceed with construction plans and any required permits; staff will follow up on enforcement and records about earlier parking work.
