House recommits two property-tax bills to special committee for further work

On Feb. 17 the House voted to recommit the House committee substitute for House Bills 27-80 and 26-68 to the Special Committee on Property Tax Reform. The gentleman from Cooper moved the recommitment, saying the bills require additional work after floor discussion. Members asked procedural questions about how the bills will return to committee and in what form; the sponsor said the committee will hold a hearing followed by executive session and that the bills will return to the original form for further work. The motion was adopted by voice vote and the bills were returned to committee.
