That equates to about $480,000" and later in the same explanation the transcript refers to "The city's portion of the project is 2,400,000.0." The transcript therefore includes inconsistent numeric statements about the city's share. The council moved to authorize the mayor to sign the commitment letter; the motion carried by voice vote.
Councilors recorded the request and approved it without extended discussion. The city staff packet contained the commitment language the city would sign if authorized; MnDOT will participate as co‑applicant and the next steps include executing the commitment and submitting the grant application.
