Enforcement education flags possible Master Settlement Agreement litigation and admin-hold review

Jennifer, director of enforcement education, told the executive management team that the agency has been contacted by AEPs and that there is the potential for litigation with the tobacco industry related to the Master Settlement Agreement (MSA) covering roughly the 2015–2019 timeframe.
She said agency staff track seizures and other enforcement data and expect that LCB may need to defend its data collection and related actions; a public-records request is also possible. Jennifer said the chief and Zachary Smith will meet on Friday to discuss administrative holds used in cannabis cases and to review concerns raised by RAG about LCB communications and due process.
Jennifer also briefed the group on ongoing training (a session scheduled for the 17th) and said staff were awaiting final approval for a guest speaker for a DIEB event. The board did not vote on enforcement items at this meeting.
