Jesse said the expanded modeling will allow staff to determine when a 25‑ or 50‑year event would flood structures and help prepare FEMA funding submittals. Council agreed staff should proceed with the two parts of the proposal and return a final proposal for approval on Aug. 20 so the city can move quickly to secure federal mitigation funds if eligible.
