The City Council on Aug. 7 approved development agreements to sell three tax‑forfeit parcels to North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity. Betsy Olavanti presented the parcels (IDs 140‑0050‑04080; 140‑0096‑00850; 140‑0220‑03170) and said St. Louis County Lands and Minerals helped move the transfers forward after a related court matter was resolved.
Councilors moved and approved each development agreement by voice vote. For one parcel (140‑0096‑00850), the council approved an early‑entry agreement allowing Habitat to begin site access and preparatory work as soon as the property transfers, enabling timely progress on a planned Hibbing High School‑area build.
Councilors and staff noted Habitat’s local need for lots and thanked county and city partners for assistance. No additional funding or conditions were specified in the motions recorded at the Aug. 7 meeting.
