Huntsville ISD presents 2024–25 Texas Academic Performance Report at public hearing

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — District staff presented the Huntsville Independent School District’s 2024–25 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) at a public hearing Tuesday, outlining academic performance, financial data and campus objectives required by state law.
Mr. Campbell and Ms. Turner, who led the presentation, described the TAPR as a comprehensive, state-required snapshot that includes STAAR performance by level (approaches, meets, masters), disaggregated student-group data, attendance and graduation rates, campus improvement plans and financial transparency measures compiled from PEIMS and other state systems. "This report provides both affirmation of progress and clarity about where intensified effort is required," Turner said.
The TAPR includes district-level accreditation status, special education determination, participation and results for postsecondary indicators such as AP and dual-credit completions, and a masked incidents report for FERPA compliance when counts are fewer than five. Turner noted the report’s financial section reflects the most recent TEA actuals and that a Spanish version will be released soon. She directed trustees and the public to the district website where the district annual report is posted under required reporting.
President Ken Holland invited public comment; none was offered during the hearing and the public portion was closed. Board members thanked staff for compiling the large dataset and indicated they would review the posted report in detail. The board did not take formal action on the TAPR at the meeting.
The district made the TAPR and district annual report available online and indicated the board will receive the House Bill 3 progress report at a future meeting.
