Civil service panel approves minutes, green-lights lateral-transfer eligibility lists and schedules March testing

Speaker 2 called the civil service meeting to order Feb. 19 at 3:00 p.m., and the panel approved two routine items and set a testing schedule. "I am calling to order the civil service meeting, February 19 at 3PM," Speaker 2 said at the start of the session.

The commission first voted to approve minutes from Nov. 13, 2025, and Jan. 5, 2026. Speaker 1 moved to accept the minutes, and Speaker 1 seconded. During the roll call, Mister Conte, Mister Holderbaum and Miss Beck each recorded a "Yes" vote, and the motion carried.

The panel then considered a request to establish eligibility lists for lateral transfers for both police officers and firefighters. Speaker 2 introduced the item; Speaker 1 moved to accept and seconded the motion. The same three members—Mister Conte, Mister Holderbaum and Miss Beck—voted "Yes" on the roll call, approving the eligibility lists.

Speaker 1 reminded the group that testing will take place on March 3. "To remind you, the testing will take place on March 3," Speaker 1 said, and listed the positions to be tested as laborer and operator (operations/operator). Speaker 2 said the next scheduled meeting will take place in March at 3:00 p.m., instead of the regular second Thursday of the month, to give the city time to create the eligibility lists; the commission will certify the lists at that meeting and then return to the regular second-Thursday schedule in April.

There was no substantive debate recorded on the items. Speaker 1 moved to adjourn near the end of the session; Speaker 2 seconded, the three members again recorded affirmative roll-call votes, and Speaker 2 declared the civil service meeting adjourned at 3:02 p.m.
