School committee approves suspension of facility‑use policy for NAHS class reunion

Tom DeFiore presented the request, saying the group hopes to hold the event on May 2 and would like to offer tours of the soon‑to‑be‑replaced high school and raise funds for the school or alumni association. "We are looking for a 1 day, liquor license… and we are looking to get a 1 day liquor license much like we had for the alumni association," DeFiore said.
A committee member moved the suspension and a second was recorded. Committee discussion noted the other permitting steps required at the town level (special events licensing) and emphasized that the policy suspension was only one step in a multi‑part process. A voice vote produced no recorded nays; the clerk announced "The motion carries" with seven members voting in favor.
The committee did not alter the underlying policy text at the meeting; members reminded the requester that municipal permits and liquor licensing remain the responsibility of town authorities and that the KFR1 suspension does not replace those separate approvals.
