They asked for an updated courthouse waterproofing quote and discussed storage and evidence‑building security requirements. The board also directed staff to schedule a facilities tour of the jail, the Dixiguana Road facility and other buildings so commissioners can review conditions before the next budget meeting.
On an emergency‑operations point, commissioners debated identifying a county shelter and whether to equip a community center with a full‑building generator; they approved a motion to obtain generator pricing for one community center and to consider grant possibilities. Staff said a building‑scale generator could cost about $200,000.
