He said the ramp connections and lack of weather protection create burdens during snow and rain seasons and noted there is not always a consistent chaperone when students make those transitions. Mata added that he believed the town had committed to providing an enclosure that has not yet been installed and asked the committee for clarity and a plan to resolve safety issues.
The chair thanked Mata for bringing the concern and said the committee would not respond to public address at the time but would discuss the matter with the superintendent and track it in the minutes. A committee member asked whether the chair would consider a report at the next meeting; the chair said she would discuss it with the superintendent and follow up.
No formal action was taken at the meeting; members directed staff to review the concern and provide a follow-up report.
