District gives timeline for stadium, HVAC and transportation projects; $5 million appropriation flagged

He projected occupancy of the new facility in 12 to 15 months, barring unforeseen construction delays.
On the Cottonwood HVAC project, Bartlett described a full HVAC replacement, ceiling grid and tile work, fire suppression upgrades and interior renovations; a pre‑construction meeting was held and demolition was scheduled to begin May 23 with steps to preserve teaching continuity. Bartlett said technology and curriculum materials are being inventoried for removal and temporary storage.
On transportation, Bartlett reported that the joint appropriations committee had approved additional funding and that a $5,000,000 appropriation from 2024 remains available to the district; staff are coordinating timing so major projects do not create local inflationary pressure and are working to ensure bidding schedules do not overlap adversely.
Trustees asked about posting renderings and walk‑through videos; Bartlett said the design team will provide renderings and video and the district planned to publish updates at major design milestones. No board action was taken on these items at the meeting.
