The Aurora East USD 131 Board of Education on Feb. 17 approved routine consent items, authorized a facilities procurement and completed several personnel actions following executive session.
The board moved and seconded approval of the consent agenda; the secretary called the roll and the motion carried with recorded 'Yes' votes.
Ms. Reyes reported the Aurora East Education Foundation (AEF) committed $125,000 to support high-visibility projects; the board then considered a finance-committee recommendation to purchase kitchen equipment for Cowherd Middle School. After an executive session on land, personnel and pending litigation, the board reconvened and approved the dismissal of a department staff member, Anthony Valpo. The board also moved to table the dismissal of a service staff employee; that motion carried. The minutes record roll-call votes for each action.
