The Marseilles City Council completed routine business in a short session: it approved minutes from the Feb. 4, 2026 meeting and authorized accounts payable and payroll warrants.
Commissioner Kaminski moved to approve the accounts payable for February totaling $104,524.52 and the motion passed on roll call with Commissioner Schaible recorded as the sole No vote. Line items read into the record included Mid South Chemicals ($77,256.05), Morton Salt ($12,780.53) and Catlin Law Firm ($11,652.63), among others.
The council then approved payroll for February in the amount of $95,813.56; Commissioner Schaible was recorded as Abstain on that vote and all other members voted Aye.
Commissioner Small moved to approve a special-events permit for the Marseilles Memorial Day motorcycle show scheduled for May 16, 2026, and to waive the permit fee; the council discussed the likely organizer (the VFW) and approved the application unanimously.
The meeting concluded after the council approved engineering contracts tied to a federal grant and then adjourned.
