Orange City School Board elects Beth Wilson Fish president; Rebecca Boyle chosen vice president

The Orange City School Board on Jan. 5 elected Beth Wilson Fish as its president for 2026 and Rebecca Boyle as vice president, and administered oaths to incoming and returning board members.
Supporters who nominated Fish cited her two years as vice president and her statewide roles with the Ohio School Boards Association, saying those positions position her to “stay informed on developments in Columbus and to collaborate with leaders who can help advance our district.” Following a motion to close nominations and a roll-call vote in which members recorded “yes,” Fish took the oath and was congratulated by colleagues.
Rebecca Boyle was nominated and approved for vice president by a separate motion and roll-call vote; the board administered her oath after the vote. The meeting also included oath ceremonies for other members whose terms begin Jan. 1, 2026. Gary Plattco administered the oaths during the organizational portion of the meeting.
The board used the organizational session to assign committee roles and external liaisons, naming members to academic, audit and finance, policy, buildings and grounds, alumni, PTA and booster positions. Delegates and alternates for the Ohio School Boards Association were also named.
What’s next: Committee assignments and OSBA delegate responsibilities will guide board participation in 2026 events and liaison activities; the board scheduled regular meetings for later in January and February.
