The district treasurer presented the monthly financial report on Nov. 10, reporting total cash balances just shy of $39,900,000 and a general fund balance of approximately $26,800,000.
The treasurer said October revenue included just over $1,000,000, which incorporated about $348,000 in unrestricted state foundation payments and a $585,000 refund of prior real-estate assessment fees returned from Cuyahoga County after a reappraisal cycle. Expenditures for October were higher than usual due to payment for three new buses.
The treasurer also noted that the Suburban Health Consortium fiscal-agent duties transferred to Brecksville-Broadview Heights High Schools effective Oct. 1 and that the district has set a records-commission meeting window (to be scheduled) as required by statute. The treasurer discussed investment liquidity, noting movement into the State Treasurer's STAR Ohio account and other short-term placements.
On state legislation, the treasurer said several bills are in committee and could move before Thanksgiving; the transcript references a set of house bills (transcribed as House Bill 129, "NYE 6 or more", House Bill 309 regarding expanded Budget Commission authority, and House Bill 335 addressing inside millage growth limits). The treasurer said the district is monitoring potential impacts but did not identify a direct immediate local fiscal change stemming from those measures.
Board members asked follow-up procedural questions (records commission timing, investments) and thanked staff for the report.
