High-school construction nearly complete; waterline and field drainage finished

Operations staff told the Orange City School District board that the high-school renovation is essentially finished and that remaining punch-list items will be closed prior to the start of school.
The operations director said abatement and flooring work at the high school are complete except for stair treads and a few final punch-list items. He said crews were waxing floors and expected to finish cove base and stair treads shortly; once punch-list items are complete, the project will be signed off.
Staff also reported that the new waterline work and associated paving have finished for phase 1, with additional sidewalk restoration scheduled to be completed the week following the meeting. Rooftop units were reset and energized after reuse of some existing units; the rooftop dumpster used during work will be removed. The district added drainage to the softball field in-house and is seeking contractor pricing to add netting around baseball/softball fields.
While staff acknowledged small remaining items — for example, running a new line to support a second kiln in an art room — the board was told the remaining work should not delay the start of school.
Operations staff said they will return to the board with updates as final punch-list items are closed.
