The Brunswick Board of Education on Nov. 19 approved a series of routine business items, including minutes, financial reports, contracts and personnel recommendations.
Minutes for the Oct. 25, 2025 regular meeting and the Nov. 4, 2025 work session were approved after a motion by Missus Weinauer and a second by Mister Gilley; the roll call recorded Weinauer, Gilley, Hanadel and Gessler as voting "Aye" while Missus Mullen was not present and the motion carried.
The board approved the financial and investment report for October 2025 and accepted appropriation modifications for fiscal year 2026 that included capital-project adjustments and sales-tax-fund items. Treasurer remarks noted receipt of the majority of tax revenues for the year and that a reappraisal year may affect receipts later in the fiscal year.
The board approved multiple construction change orders noted as within the project budget, a payment-in-lieu-of-transportation package (cited at $20,252,026) under Ohio Revised Code section 3327.01, and an amended service contract for PSI Associates Inc. (resolution number 25-9R-221).
Superintendent recommendations the board approved included several donations (professional development, school supplies, anonymous assistance and furniture/appliances for a school foundation), acceptance of six policies for first reading and 26 policies on final reading (many tied to the Neola August 2025 update and state regulatory changes), approval of an overnight college trip for about 40 juniors (no cost to the district), and two contracts for services for children with disabilities.
The board also approved a memorandum of understanding with the Brunswick Educational Association (BEA) and Brunswick Educational Support Professionals Association (VESPA) that codifies aspects of the district’s multifactor-authentication cybersecurity approach. The meeting concluded with approval of an extensive personnel agenda covering resignations, leaves, reassignments, employments and supplemental contracts.
All motions that required a roll-call vote were recorded as carried on the record at the meeting.
