The Waukee City Council voted on a series of consent and ordinance items covering rezoning, plats and professional services.
Key outcomes included:
- Tabling: Orange Commercial Development (third and final reading) was tabled to the April 6 council meeting at the developer's request.
- Approved (third/final readings or resolutions): Crum Farms rezoning (approximately 4.2 acres north of Ashworth east of Grand Prairie Parkway), the Waukee Community School District (WCSD) Administration Building Expansion rezoning (about 10.22 acres), an amendment to Vintage Estates to allow individual lots for proposed residential units (about 7.9 acres), and preliminary/final plats for the Autumn Ridge / Big O Tires site (1.22 acres).
- Contract/consulting: Council approved a professional services agreement with Confluence for Grand Prairie Parkway / Kettlestone corridor streetscape work (phase 1 survey and phase 2 streetscape and signage) in the amount of $341,500; staff said the amount is roughly 10% of projected phase 1 costs and includes full survey work for the corridor.
All items on the consent agenda that proceeded were approved by recorded vote. Staff noted the Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval for relevant rezoning items and that staff will continue to coordinate with applicants and neighbors as needed.
