Residents press Riverview leaders on lawn restoration after water‑main repair and unsafe Kroger crossing

At the Riverview City Council meeting, two residents urged the city to follow up on infrastructure impacts they said affect daily life.

Anthony Wilhelm, a Coaster Street resident, said work on a water main that involved bursting and repairs left his lawn altered and he wants assurance contractors will restore properties to their prior condition. “This is my lawn,” Wilhelm said, adding that it costs him “a lot of money to … keep it this way,” and asking whether contractors will replace grass rather than leaving gravel or generic seed.

Jennifer O'Connor, of 13942 Perry, described difficulty for people with mobility aids during a recent heavy snow event near Kroger and the Southgate area. O'Connor said a man using a power chair became stuck at a side entrance that had not been plowed and urged the council to consider infrastructure improvements or county coordination to improve crossings. “I have a daughter who is severely impaired, so accessibility is key in my life,” she said.
