She detailed major revenue streams: Bass Lake Campground brought in about $172,000, and Beach and Piers revenue totaled approximately $86,000. Amy said the department is self-funded through campground revenue, department fundraising, and donations after the county discontinued a $20,000 annual stipend in 2023.
Amy also reported that county commissioners approved a clearing account — a deposit account where refunding and reconciliation are controlled — which she said will let the parks accept reservations online and move customers through the beach gate faster. She noted the parks secured a Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources with a matching grant from the Stark County Council and that LWCF program funding ended in 2025, making the award timely.
Amy said a grand opening for the renovated beach house is planned for Memorial Day weekend, when concessions will open and the facility will be operational for the summer.
The council did not take additional votes on park expenditures during the meeting; Amy asked council members to contact parks staff with questions or needs.
