The commission on Feb. 14 approved a site‑plan request for a 610‑square‑foot addition to the Texas Roadhouse at 5951 Lyons Road that will add roughly 40 seats, a new electric‑vehicle charger and upgraded landscaping.
City staff said the Development Review Committee and the Planning & Zoning Board unanimously recommended approval at their Jan. 14 meeting, and staff recommended approval subject to remaining DRC conditions. Applicant representative Jim Evans of Greenberg Farrow told the commission the addition will blend with the existing building and that construction work will cease before the restaurant opens at 3 p.m. so customers are not disturbed.
The mayor opened a public hearing; no members of the public spoke. Commissioner Bridal moved to approve the site plan and Commissioner Welch seconded; the motion passed on a unanimous roll call. Staff found the application consistent with the city’s land‑development regulations and comprehensive plan.
