Multiple speakers indicated the eventual additional cost requests are likely a six-figure number (not a seven-figure number) but stressed they are not settled. Trustees said legal counsel and staff are reviewing outstanding contractor claims and noted staff intend to offset unsettled contractor claims where appropriate before approving final payment.
Staff emphasized that the board would see a detailed change-order packet on the Thursday agenda that includes backup and credits from value-engineering decisions. No change order was approved during the meeting; staff asked to proceed with further vetting and to present a reconciled package to the board for action.
