Glencoe swears in new public safety officer; board issues Women's History Month proclamation and honors longtime volunteer

The Glencoe Village Board opened its Feb. 19 meeting by swearing in Sebastian Strozyk as a new public safety officer and welcoming his family.
The department introduction described Strozyk’s background: staff said he is 27, joined Glencoe as a lateral hire after nearly three years with the Schaumburg Police Department, previously served as a park ambassador in Highland Park and was an auxiliary officer with Rosemont Public Safety. "It is my pleasure to introduce our newest Glencoe public safety officer, Sebastian Strozyk," the introducing official said, and Village Manager Phil Crowley administered the oath and led Strozyk in repeating it.
Later in the meeting the board unanimously adopted a proclamation declaring March as Women’s History Month and passed a resolution honoring Diane Schwartzbach for 18 years of service on the Preservation Commission. President Rowan also announced the recent passing of longtime volunteer Bob Young and offered condolences to his family, noting Young’s service on community boards and his role in the Council for Inclusion and Community.
Trustees and staff welcomed the new officer, highlighted the village’s pride in its public safety department, and noted staff coverage changes while Deputy Village Manager/CFO Nikki Larson is on parental leave following the birth of her son, Dominic Martin Larson.
