The Gage County Board of Supervisors approved a slate of routine and nonroutine actions at its September 4 meeting, including the consent agenda, two separate vendor claims, an appointment and a process for selling surplus highway items.
Chair called the meeting to order at 8:46 a.m. and the board first approved the consent agenda, which included approval of the Aug. 21 minutes and claims through Sept. 4. The chair listed total consent claims of $588,489.35; the board voted 6‑0 to approve the consent agenda.
Two claims were considered separately: claim number 24090063 to Hard Rock Quarries for $3,134.74 and claim number 24090070 to RLT Construction for $144,386.38. The chair stated, “These are both companies I'm associated with.” After discussion, a motion to approve those claims passed with one abstention and five votes in favor.
The board approved the recommendation of Tim Fralin as manager of Hidden Acres Golf Course. Commissioners noted the procedural tie to liquor licensing—county recommendation is forwarded to the Liquor Commission—and the nomination passed 6‑0.
Later in the meeting, the board approved a motion to bundle surplus highway items designated as scrap and post them on Purple Wave (an online auction marketplace). If Purple Wave does not accept or items do not sell, the county will pursue sealed bids and, if necessary, scrap the materials. That motion passed 6‑0.
