At the Feb. 17 Dickson County Commission meeting the commission handled several routine items, including a split roll-call on minutes and multiple routine approvals.
The Jan. 20, 2026 minutes failed on a 5-5 roll-call vote after a motion by Commissioner Grove and a second by Commissioner Spicer; the chair said the prevailing side could bring the item back up when all members are present and commissioners later approved a motion to revisit the minutes.
The commission appointed Robbie Harmon to the Industrial Development Board to fill a remaining term vacated by Ed Moore and Michelle Street; the motion (moved by Commissioner Buckner, seconded by Commissioner Grove) passed by voice vote.
Commissioners approved a penny-rounding resolution authorizing immediate rounding for cash transactions to address a penny shortage (round down 1'— cents or round up 6'— cents) following the explanation previously provided by county staff.
On land-use items the commission moved the Trent Smith A-1 to R-3 rezoning on Eno Road to the next regular session (30 days) for further consideration, and approved a small A-1 to C-2 rezoning for a parcel at 2652 Highway 46 South after a public comment in favor.
The commission approved the consent/notice list and set the next regular session for Monday, March 16 at 7 p.m. in the Dickson County Administration Building commission chamber.
