Board members unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5–9, 2025) and affirmed appreciation for the district’s teaching staff. During the reading, the presenter noted that students often use the term 'teacher' generically for any adult in the school and that the district intends to present the certified resolution to union president Katie Kishline.
Later in the meeting the board made a ceremonial presentation to Della and Michael Travis honoring a continuous 50-year span in which a member of the Travis family served on the district board. The commemorative acrylic was produced by district students in a production class and will be installed in the Porter Room on display near existing memorabilia. Board members and family members exchanged brief remarks celebrating the family’s long community service.
Both the resolution and the presentation were recorded in the meeting transcript as adopted and presented; the superintendent and several trustees offered congratulatory remarks. Administration noted the presentations were ceremonial and do not impose policy or budgetary changes.
