"We decided to offer Doctor McBride a 1 year contract extension," the board president announced, and the motion to approve the addendum passed by roll call later in the meeting.
McBride said he was honored and pleased to continue. "I'm very pleased to do that for another year," he said, noting his long career in public education and his interest in helping the board through the transition and onboarding process for the next superintendent.
Board members said the extension allows time to build cohesion among newly elected board members, to develop a clear search process and to ensure stability while major projects continue. The contract addendum was moved and seconded and carried on a roll-call vote recorded in the meeting minutes.
